NIX & KIX Soft Drink

Products are packed into a standard 275 ml glass bottle with a long neck. The packaging is giving an impression of a standard daily product. Paper label is sending a message of a natural product. Going more into details of the ingredients the insights confirms that ingredients are only natural: juices, fruit extracts, cayenne and chili extracts. Product sweetened with natural sweeteners and fortified with ‘kicking’ extracts.

RICH MANGO & ZINGY GINGER

After having the first sip of Mango ginger first flavor that is coming is very light, not too sweet and clear mango, after several second the ‘kick’ is coming with a certain surprise. Spiciness and hot is well harmonized with a light and soft taste of mango. The mouth feel is created by using mango puree. Color is very strong and turbid, easily related with mango taste. Additional spiciness is coming from the natural ginger extract.

SUCCULENT PEACH & SMOOTH VANILLA

After opening the bottle you feel very nice peach smell straight afterwards. The taste is again very soft and smooth due to the used peach puree. The body of the drink is full and well fulfilled. Additional vanilla note is very subtle and for sure well dosed as sometimes vanilla might provide a bitter aftertaste. The ‘kick’ is much weaker than in a Mango and ginger taste. Color is very soft orange, perfectly related with a peach flavor.

COOL CUCUMBER & FRESHMINT

Straight after opening the bottle you can identify the tastes: cucumber and mint. Product taste very refreshing, due to the main flavors of mint and cucumber. Low sweetness is going well with a light tasting mix. Spiciness is lower than a Mango and Ginger drink. Color is slight turbid which provides a natural appearance and is well connected with an idea of cucumber water. Overall taste is much more watery than two other, due to the fact that no puree was used in the formulation. The body of the drink is going well with the main ingredient – cucumber.

In conclusion the idea of a drink with a ‘kick’ is very nice. Beverage formulation with natural ingredients and herbal extracts is pretty popular for the past few years. Overall the challenge to express spiciness succeeded product taste very good and innovative.
