Tesco – the biggest retailer in the UK – during the discussion with founders of DrinkPreneur announced that they are seeking to become more small supplier friendly and more open for new brands and products than they have ever been. And they are taking actions at the DrinkPreneur live this year already!
The head buyer of the soft drink category for Tesco’s, David Beardmore, who will be mentoring young brand owners at the DrinkPreneur Live 2014 in London on the 11th of June promised to spend whole afternoon with the winning brand. He is open for ideas and suggestions and as well willing to freely discuss the listing possibilities as well as negotiating the traditionally harsh conditions for new brands.
This open communication with decision makers for one of the leading retail multiples in the world is unprecedented and we hope that it will inspire others to follow. We hope to see more small and unique brands on the shelves and hear less about their struggles to satisfy the conditions that sometimes lead to complete bust.
