VIVA – Natural Sugar Free Functional Drinks

VIVA brand has released 4 different functional beverage types since the very beginning. PET wide neck bottles with 330 ml capacity are covered with colourful shrink sleeves. Four different taste have four different functions: Mint & Lemon – Detox, White Peach & Melon – Calm, Watermelon & Raspberry – Defence and Pineapple & Mangosteen – Focus.

Company is socially responsible. The Live Life Naturally foundation has been created to help poorly living people. The action was taken together with local Salvation Army in order to provide starving families with food and also with VIVA Drinks bottles. Even though it was the first step, company is eager to maintain help provision to people in need.

Detox – Mint & Lemon

Detox has only 26 kcal per 100 ml. Detox is sweetened with natural sweetener – steviol glycosides which has no kcal. Strong mint smell combined with lemon and mixed with herbs comes up after opening the bottle. The first sip brings sweet and strong mint taste and only after that the prickly pear flavor comes. Although, afterwards mint takes over and leaves refreshing aftertaste.

Detox has even 5 different functional ingredients in its formulation. Milk thistle for instant is well known in traditional Chinese medicine. It has been used to clear heat and relieve toxic materials. Detox drink is also enriched with dandelion, lemongrass and prickly pear extracts. The last one is well know in Mexican folk medicine for improving digestive activity. Detox drink also contains chicory inulin which is supposed to maintain a healthy balance of “good” bacteria in the colon.

Focus – Pineapple & Mangosteen

Focus is enriched with 5 different B group vitamins. Without any artificial ingredients this drink has only 15 kcal per 100 ml. Judging beverage smell there is strong pineapple which reminds of sweet candy. Vivid pineapple flavour with afterwards eluticading mangosteen diluted by sourness which is coming from apple juice concentrate.

Vitamins B3, B5, B6, B2 and B1 are essential and keeps us energized and awake. Vitamin B1 also known as Thiamine plays main role in providing our body with energy for daily routine. Focus contains natural caffeine, so this drink not only helps to keep energized, moreover it keeps you awake. Lastly, theanine from green tea extract potentially should reduce mental stress and improve cognitive performance.

Calm – White peach & Melon

This drink suits the best for those who counts their daily kcal amount, because Calm has only 12 kcal per 100 ml! From all four different flavours it is the lowest amount of kcal you can find among VIVA drinks. Strong white peach smell with a little touch of chamomiles can be felt once you open the bottle. Soft sourness which later turns to sweetness is overlapped with white peach and melon flavour and has a slight aftertaste from valerian root. However, Calm keeps perfect balance between sourness and sweetness.

Calm is enriched with chamomile passion flower extracts which supposed to help fight against stress and insomnia. Moreover, fennel extract is rich in protein, dietary fiber, B vitamins and minerals like calcium, iron and magnesium. Some studies suggests that fennel can reduce nausea and weakness. Lavender which is fourth functional ingredient form five is known for centuries as one of main herbs used in aromatherapy. Lastly, with a touch of valerian root which is well known for people with insomnia as stress releaser, calm is balanced to help reduce stress.

Defence – Watermelon & Raspberry

Defence is the last VIVA line beverage with largest amount of calories. 28 kcal per 100 ml and 230 % RDA of zinc per 330 ml. Sweet and strong raspberry smell is the first thing noticeable about Defence. The drink is refreshing although, a little bit sweet at the end. When it comes for looking pure refreshment – raspberry mixed with watery feeling coming from watermelon makes Defence number one from all four drinks. With slight aftertaste of hibiscus the drink is perfectly balanced for warm spring days.

Defence is enriched with magnesium gluconate and zinc picolinate which are important to maintain healthy and energized body. Enriched with sea buckthorn, raspberry, rosehips, hibiscus and grapeseed, defence should to strengthen immune system. For example, hibiscus and rosehip extracts contain vitamin C which is very important to maintain strong immune system.
